Performing Column Gap Analysis
A column gap analysis enables you to find:
- Columns not existing in mappings
- Source columns existing on mappings without valid target
- Target columns listed on mappings without business rule and source column
You can perform column gap analysis at:
- System level: This option enables running the analysis on all the columns under a system.
- Environment level: This option enables running the analysis on all the columns under an environment.
- Table level: This option enables running the analysis on all the columns under a table.
To perform column gap analysis at system level, follow these steps:
- Go to Application Menu > Data Catalog > Mapping Manager.
- Under the Workspace Mappings pane, click a project.
- In Metadata Catalogue, right-click a system.
- Click Column Gap Analysis.
- Select projects and mappings.
- Click
.
The Column Gap Analysis page appears.
The Column Gap Analysis Report for the selected projects and mappings appears.
To perform column gap analysis at environment level, follow these steps:
- In Metadata Catalogue, right-click an environment.
- Click Column Gap Analysis.
- Select projects and mappings.
- Click
.
The Column Gap Analysis page appears.
The Column Gap Analysis Report for the selected projects and mappings appears.
To perform column gap analysis at table level, follow these steps:
- In Metadata Catalogue, right-click a table.
- Click Column Gap Analysis.
- The Column Gap Analysis page appears.
- Click

Select projects and mappings.
The Columns Gap Analysis Report for the selected projects and mappings appears.
